Boy Scout Rifle Merit Badge

September 16, 2017

Dakota County Gun Club is sponsoring a Rifle Merit Badge day for Scouts on September 16, 2017. We are presenting the complete Merit Badge start to finish. The class will be conducted by personnel holding NRA, DNR, BSA and other firearms instructor ratings and credentials.

When registering for the class each Scout will be given a Workbook which will need to be completed before coming to the class. We will be working in Patrols of eight scouts. Each patrol will start with about 90 minutes in class and then move to the range for 90 minutes of shooting. Please do NOT bring any firearms or ammunition.

Remember to dress for the outdoor range and be prepared for Minnesota’s weather.

The class, and range expenses are provided by the sponsors. A voluntary donation of $5.00 to help cover costs is suggested but not required. As good Scouts please remember to “Do a Good Turn Daily” and a bring donation of a food item for the local food shelf.

** Scouts will need: a Rifle Merit Badge pamphlet, completed workbook, water bottle, a Merit Badge card signed by their Scoutmaster and a signed permission slip is required. If signed up for the 11 AM session, bring a bag lunch.**

We have sessions at 8 AM, 9:30 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, 2:30 PM.
