Range Open

with conditions

April 18, 2020

To all members:

The governor's latest
Executive Order 20-38 updates the list of allowable outdoor activities so the Board has decided to reopen the club range starting Saturday, April 18 at 8 am.

This will require all members to follow the
DNR's Outdoor Recreation Guidelines on outdoor activities. Failure to follow these guidelines could result in action against the club and a closure of the facilities.

We need EVERYONE to remember:

  • Do NOT go to the range if you or anyone with whom you have had contact has any symptoms of illness.

  • Wash your hands and use hand sanitizer often, and immediately before and after using any range facilities.

  • Do not linger in the clubhouse. Enter only to sign in, get targets, and sign out.

  • Maintain a distance of 6 feet or greater between you and anyone else at the range.

  • Wear face masks or coverings to minimize risk to you and others.

  • Be responsible for your health and others. Avoid any close contact, particularly if you are in a high risk category.

  • If you use the range and later become ill, contact the Board immediately.

On Range operations, follow all rules and guidelines provided in the Club Rules and By Laws, including:

  • Range hours: Monday-Saturday: 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM or sunset (whichever is earlier) - Sunday: 12:00 noon to 9:00 PM or sunset (whichever is earlier)

  • Ensure each range has a lead Range Officer in charge wearing an orange vest.

  • No handling of firearms when anyone is downrange.

  • Raise and lower main range flag on pole behind the clubhouse if you are the first or last on the range.

  • No more than 2 guests without pre-approval by the Board

  • Wear your Badge with name and member number displayed. Non-member guests must be accompanied by a member at all times.

  • If you see someone not following the rules, calmly explain and ask them to comply. If they do not, get their name and badge number and contact the Board.

Gate Code, Membership Renewals and Range Officer Reorientation:

  • The 2019-20 gate code will be good until May 14th, 2020.

  • Members who renew and meet reorientation requirements will receive the new code.

  • Information regarding reorientation will be sent out within the next week. A new procedure will be explained in that mailing.

  • As long as we receive your reorientation paperwork we will send out the new gate combo as soon as possible.

The range can only be open if EVERYONE follows these guidelines.

If conditions change or members do not follow these conditions the Board may need to take action to protect the club and its members.

Watch for updates on the club website and via email.

Stay safe,

DCGC Board of Directors
