Youth Firearms Safety Classes

NOTICE: The DNR has notified all instructors that NO FAS CLASSES should be held until further notice without special restrictions. Unfortunately, we are unable to meet all of the necessary precautions and still provide a quality training experience. Therefore:

We normally teach a MN DNR certified class for youth aged 11 and up each Spring and Fall.

Classes are taught by Gun Club members with many years of training experience.

Location: Classes are held at the range clubhouse: 17501 Station Trail. See Directions

Next Upcoming Class:

2020 Fall - CANCELLED

Sign up: Call Steve Wolverton at 651-437-6865 for more information.

Registration: CANCELLED
Schedule: Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00pm to 9:15pm on Sept 3 through Oct 1. Field day Sat, Oct 3.

  • Safety Certificate not valid until age 12

  • After the first night of class each student will be asked to bring a firearm, (rifle or shotgun) to class each night to ‘check-in’. During the ‘check-in’ process each student will pair up with an instructor to go over the parts of the gun, how to handle it safely and other topics discussed in class.  We ask that students arrive early to ‘check-in’ so class may begin on time.
